Become an [ngen]² Certified Virtual Factory Specialist

Master CAD, 4D Animation, Digital Twins, Robot Simulation, Offline Programming and Virtual Commissioning.

Learn the exclusive technical workflow that equips you with the necessary knowledge and skills to model and simulate production systems before they are built.

Engineer designing a virtual factory with robot simulation on dual monitors

What makes this program special?

Unlike traditional training programs, the Virtual Factory Specialist program emphasizes real industry workflows rather than isolated software tutorials.

Industry-Driven Curriculum

Designed around the processes used for manufacturing, system integration, robotics, and modular construction.

    Learn by Building

Every phase combines theory with practical exercises, culminating in a complete virtual factory project that demonstrates your capabilities.

      Professional Technical Tools

Gain hands-on experience using valuable industry-leading tools including:

      • RoboDK Professional
      • realvirtual.io Professional
      • Onshape
      • Unity
      • ABB, FANUC & KUKA robots
      • 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse

      Portfolio & Certification

      Graduate with:

      • Professional portfolio
      • Official Virtual Factory Specialist Certificate of Completion
      • Industry-aware project experience
      • Skills applicable across multiple technical disciplines

      Virtual Factory Specialist Curriculum

A structured learning journey that progressively develops your skills from technical fundamentals to complete virtual factory design.

Phase 1 — CAD for Manufacturing Fundamentals

      • Learn the essential basics of what it takes to make a good CAD model.
      • Learn how to manipulate models between different CAD software.
      • Learn how to prep CAD models for optimal use in construction, manufacturing and robot simulation to eliminate rework.
      • Drawing interpretation and creation of sample models.

      Phase 2 — 4D Kinematics Fundamentals

      • Upon successful completion of Phase 1, the student will learn how to simulate simple mechanisms — 1 DOF, 2 DOF, 3 DOF — to form the basis of 4D simulations and animations.
      • Upgrading non-compatible 3D models to work with 4D simulation.

Phase 3 — Robotics, Robot Sim., Logic & OLP Fundamentals

      • Learn industry-driven robotic nomenclature for kinematic and design reference points.
      • Learn how to simulate the behavior and control of most vendor-catalogue 3-axis to 6-axis robots (KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, etc.) through a computer.
      • Learn how to simulate the behavior and control of the most common types of tooling (vacuum grippers, sliding grippers, milling spindles) and the most complex tooling (multi-reference point tools such as sealant nozzles, vehicle door grippers, etc.).
      • Learn how to simulate the behavior and control of most robots driven by most end-of-arm tools.

      Phase 4 — Sample Project

      • Create a sample multi-robot cell that the student takes interest in or is suggested by the instructor.

      End Product

      • Student should have the skills to simulate most types of 6-axis robots on a computer and create conceptual tooling and conceptual factories.
      • Student should have content that they can showcase in their portfolio, demonstrating their skills in virtual factory development.

      Certification

Official [ngen]² Virtual Factory Specialist Certificate

Students who successfully complete the program receive an official Virtual Factory Specialist certificate recognizing their abilities in:

CAD for ManufacturingDigital Twins4D KinematicsRobot SimulationOffline ProgrammingVirtual Commissioning

        Each certificate includes:

        • Unique Certificate ID
        • Completion Date
        • Official [ngen]² Verification
        • Instructor Signature
        • Digital Badge for LinkedIn
